At Standing for Washington, education is at the heart of our mission. We believe that empowering our community with knowledge is essential for safeguarding our natural environment. Here’s how we educate and inspire action:
Online materials
Our online resources provide valuable information on direct democracy, standing for nature, and the importance of watersheds. Explore our website and come back often as we are always adding more.
Local ballot measures
We run local ballot measures that not only drive legislative change but also serve as powerful educational tools. By participating in these initiatives, citizens learn about the critical role of watersheds and their value to our communities. These measures help raise awareness and foster a sense of responsibility toward our natural resources.
Community legal education
The power to act starts with knowledge. We educate communities on how to use legal standing to protect their watersheds, ensuring local ecosystems have a voice in the courts. This includes communities that are considering running an initiative, and communities that have passed an initiative already.
Upcoming Event: A Community Workshop in Everett
Join us this April in Everett for a special community event designed to help residents understand how they can use the new law (Initiative 24-03) to take action. More details to come.
Nature needs a voice. Be heard.
